Part of toddlerhood

The sleeping adventure continues! Cody thought it would be a good idea to take Lee's crib apart and set it up in day-bed mode (we have one of those convertible cribs). This wouldn't have been a bad thing if Lee hadn't been sick and had been better about staying in his bed to begin with, but apparently this logic only makes sense to Lisa. Oh well, we know now that putting the crib back would be even more detrimental than just leaving it. However, this new set-up has resulted in good and bad consequences. Good: Lee hasn't fallen out of bed yet! I thought for sure he would the first night, but he's better at staying in his covers than we realized. Good: he loves his bed now and showing it off. Bad: it is even EASIER to get out of bed at night now, and I can't lock him in for his nap at all. Last night he got out of bed about 15 times at bedtime (8:30), and then again at 11, 12, and 1:30. We also have to stay in the room at naptime if he is to sleep at all. No more free time for mom.

This is one of those classic "live and learn" scenarios. If we want Lee to be completely out of the crib by the time this baby comes along, we've got to be willing to lose some sleep over it.

Yes, and then if you want to move him to a new room, it will all begin again.

Good luck!
